Molly's Revenge

Born out of the timeless tradition of Celtic music sessions, Molly’s Revenge is a band with a genuine affection for the music they play; their enthusiasm for the music carries over in all their live and recorded performances. The classic combination of solo instruments such as the Highland bagpipes, uilleann pipes, whistles, fiddle, and mandolin against a backdrop of guitar and bouzouki accompaniment, with an occasional rousing chorus song mixed in, guarantees an enjoyable and memorable listening experience. Equally at home in front of audiences several thousand strong orin small intimate venues, Molly’s Revenge has performed at many of the top folk festivals and performing arts events in the USA, and countless private concerts.

 Internationally, they have performed at prestigious events in Australia and China. The band’s skilled musicianship and boundless enthusiasm for itsmusic guarantees enjoyable entertainment for people of all ages. Their arrangements of traditional Celtic jigs and reels brings these dance tunes up to date with a driving, hard-edged accent in a way that will leave your feet tapping, your hands clapping, and your voices shouting for more.

The folk-music duo, Men of Worth, was formed by James Keigher (Ireland) and Donnie Macdonald (Scotland) in 1986. Both exiles, it was through the Celtic music scene in Southern California that James and Donnie first met, and within a couple of years a partnership developed that was simultaneously serious and fun. Geographical changes now find James and Donnie living in Southern Oregon and Northern California respectively. Whilst remaining true to their Gaelic roots, Men of Worth have successfully evolved as entertainers. Success breeds success, and a natural progression toward education and travel has sealed the next decade as an exciting and pioneering era for the versatile duo.

Together Men of Worth blend their voices with harmony and support their collection of songs with their varied selection of instruments. They have a very simple approach to their presentation, and in keeping with tradition, remain true to the music and story. Their show is a unique combination of humor, exciting tunes, and soulful, heartfelt ballads.

Men of Worth are an international act, and have earned much respect and success in two decades of touring. Cultural presentations in Schools have received rave reviews by students and teachers alike. Pioneers of the growing Tribal Celtic movement, Wicked Tinkers have been playing haunting, heart-pounding bagpipes and irresistible, tribal drums as a professional band since 1995 and for many years before that at parties, renaissance faires and on various street corners. With the addition several years back of the mesmerizing drone of the Australian didgeridoo and bronze-age Irish horn the magic was complete.

Sit back and be transported to an earlier time in Scotland and Ireland when battle cries filled the air and strange, unheard-of creatures roamed the night. Or better yet, get on your feet and let your body move to ancient rhythms and forgotten sounds. Don’t think that this is dry, dusty music for museum shelves- the boys in the band merge the best of modern, almost rock and roll energy with the hypnotic, insistent grooves of their gaelic ancestors. Steve Colby is a multi instrumentalist and vocalist whose interest in music began at the ripe old age of five or so. His musical interests are diverse but, within the past fifteen years have focused on Celtic, folk, folk-rock and old time Rock n’ Roll.

John Good - born in Wales and instructed in Classical Music since childhood. John is also a multi instrumentalist, a songwriter and poet. He received a Master’s in music composition at twenty-one and has practiced his trade — arranger, performer, studio musician, teacher — in Europe and the United States, ever since.

John and Steve met on a recording session several years ago and since then, have delighted audiences of every imaginable kind with their songs and instrumentals drawn from the inexhaustible wellsprings of Ireland, Wales, Scotland and North America.

The music is infectious, ranging from the breathless jigs and hornpipes, through the more relaxed popular songs, all the way along to the ballads and airs. They have performed on network television and have been favorably received by the local and regional press.
